The season of confidence
To land on the grassy hill. Become one of the smiling flowers in the sun. Receiving the breeze on your face… feeling carried!
To be the child who runs into the meadow to throw himself into loved arms, to smile broadly, to jump and be received, to know himself loved!
To have a broad chest of happiness to feel alive, to breathe the generous air, to be part of nature.
This is the time of abundance and peace, of the fullness of the straightened sap, of the buds that have largely opened, of the frosts that no longer threaten, of the reverie of immense possibilities! Nature is a big mother overflowing with a life that gives itself with the carefree freshness of intense green.
The archetype of the Spontaneous
The upper chest belongs to this family of archetypes, linked to the sphere of the lungs, which is called the Nurse because it is this place in our body that feeds us with the good milk of the air, an indispensable ingredient to feed the fire of the child.
The bronchial tubes and the top of the sternum (manubrium) are the first, most innocent links with this air that enters and all the emotions that can flow with it…. because it is largely a question of emotion and vulnerability: while all quadrupeds protect their chest, with us, upright beings, it is largely exposed!
Air is what connects us most intimately with the world: we are totally enveloped in air and literally penetrated by it in the depths of our alveoli… and this air is shared by all living beings!
We are therefore, from the top of the chest, open to others… and it is also from there that we launch ourselves towards them: look at the movement of two people who love each other going towards each other! This is also where our hand lands when we are touched!
This is the zone of our spontaneity, hence the name of this archetype “Spontaneous”.
The central teaching of the Spontaneous
The Spontaneous reminds us how much peace in relationship, surrender in trust, is necessary to live. Yes, we are vulnerable beings, physiologically exposed, emotional to the limits of our bare skin!
La Spontanée teaches us how abandonment and momentum are inseparable… and invites us to integrate this into the heart of our lives in order to move forward in a light, nourishing way and not like convicts!
The Spontaneous invites us to know how to give security to what is sensitive in us so that this sensitivity becomes a source of momentum and does not retract.
Bronchial and upper chest pathologies
Having pathologies of this area often speaks, finally, of a wound of confidence.
Coughing, irritation, respiratory discomfort, inflammation of the upper chest …. can be signs that we fear exposing ourselves to the connection, that we are afraid of being invaded by the emotions of others… or that we are and that we do not know how to preserve our sensitive space.
The coughing may be a desire to expel something that has entered and does not respect us, but which we do not clearly discern.
Feelings of betrayal often manifest at this level for the obvious reason that being hurt by those we trust is the hardest thing to digest. The result is shortness of breath, fearfulness, distrust of the world… The result is a loss of joy… and a loss of momentum.
Surely everyone recognises themselves in this double constraint around which our humanity revolves: opening up and fear of being hurt.
The message of the Spontaneous
To be truly alive. Without emotion, we are dry, sad.
Into what crucible can I deposit my need for love? Towards what firm ground can I safely launch myself?
These are the questions that the Spontaneous invites us to ask ourselves whatever the season… questions that we cannot answer… lightly!
