
PREPARATION AND PREREQUISITES FOR THE APPRENTICESHIP MOVEMENT MEDICINE
We consider that your learning begins as soon as you embark on this in-depth level of study.
To get the most out of your learning, it’s important to feel adequately prepared. Below we outline the minimum prerequisites for the Apprenticeship programme, as well as recommendations for further preparation.
Don’t hesitate to apply if you are still missing a few courses, but plan to complete them before the start of the Apprenticeship. This will ensure that you get a place on the programme while benefiting from preferential rates!
Applications are considered on a case-by-case basis. Exceptionally, depending on your experience, some of the prerequisites may be completed during the course.

1/ 175 hours of conscious dance practice (see information below)
2/ The Phoenix retreat

DETAILS concerning the 175 hours of free dance:
- 75 hours of conscious dance practice : such as Les 9 Souffles, Open Floor, Tampala (Anna Halprin), Zero one, Suprapto Suryadarmo’s Amerta work, Azul, 5Rhythms, Soul Motion, 360 Emergence, Ecstatic dance and other conscious dance practices.
You can count:
– All the hours spent in workshops or courses in the past. We function on the basis of trust and do not ask for any supporting documents.
For workshops, each day counts as 7 hours.
– The hours of individual dance therapy sessions. If they are done with us or a Movement Medicine teacher, they count towards the 100 hours detailed below.
- 100 hours of Movement Medecine
To build your Movement Medicine class hours you are welcome to join the online courses. At least 75 hours must be practiced with a certified Movement Medicine teacher.
Here are the number of hours you can use.
– 20 hours of open online classes, such as Re-Emerge evenings (in French), our e-learnings, (Chemins de beauté et de force (podia.com)or other Movement Medicine online workshops: Movement Medicine events around the world – search for an event near you (movementmedicineassociation.org)
– 50 hours can be Movement Medicine Study Hub learning and practice with Susannah and Ya’Acov: The Movement Medicine Study Hub (Formerly 21 Gratitudes) (schoolofmovementmedicine.com)
– 40 hours can be online closed small ongoing group or workshop format (max 40 people) such as the “Path of Beauty and Strength” online courses (https://neufsouffles.podia.com/les-chemins-de-beaute-et-de-force) (soon to be translated in English).
