The beginning of all things
Perhaps you have felt it? Those stirrings that make us feel the importance of taking new paths, new resolutions?
There may be fear, fatigue, uncertainty… because we are leaving a cycle and living days where night dominates… And yet! And yet! While winter is here, under the snow (when there is snow), under the cold, the strength of the earth is already beginning to rise, the length of the days is increasing, a groundswell is on its way! It pushes us like a child’s smile that rejoices at having reached the top of the mountain and that with its new look embraces the immense valley of possibilities!
This new cycle that is beginning is inaugurated by the archetype of the Bursting Child.
The time of carefree living
Whatever we feel, a force of expansion is there, deep down!… and it’s a beautiful thing that our Roman calendar extends the idea of a renewal by a few days: December 25th begins the return of the Sun, January 1st, a new year…. and in reality this period of the gushing will continue until the epiphany, until the coming of the Magi… before they come to put words to the mystery, the childish force is pure, elusive, unspeakable!
This beginning of the year is that maximum potential, the carefree child who needs no content, no plans and no projections… it is life itself!
… it is therefore a little early to formulate wishes… as attentive beings, we should wait a few more days, like those peoples who do not name their children at birth, but after having let the wind rock their hammocks for a few days!
The source of life
The Gushing is at the beginning of all alchemy.
It is therefore the part of us that is most connected to the source of life, the part that rejoices in discovering, that starts from the centre and goes out into the world, with instinct, spontaneity and innocence. It is like the universal force that pushes the buds to bloom, the geysers to rise. A force that we call the source of life to honour the freshness of the water that comes from the depths, that carries life.
Water that, according to certain scientific theories, is created in the depths of the Earth by the rocks themselves… like the new is born from the old, like the children of the village who play carefree in the square because the old ones keep a discreet watch!
In all of us there is a child of absolute luminosity, from whom everything can begin again, and at any time.
The Upper Belly and the Gushing Archetype
In the body the archetype of the gushing child corresponds to the upper zone of digestion: liver, stomach, spleen, pancreas.
This is where the ‘digestion’ of the world (the food of the earth) begins, in the Stomach, a round bag like the child, a primordial bag, the source of something new. As if by chance, it is framed by the Liver on the right and the Pancreas on the left, as if between an energising father and an enveloping mother: the Liver is the Yang (« Faith » linked to the world of the Father) and the Pancreas is the Yin (pan-creas: « which creates everything », linked to the world of the Mother). The gush, the expansion, is born from this framework of absolute Yin and Yang.
At the level of the spleen, which is associated with the pancreas, something essential also comes into being: the definition of the space of self, since it is here that our immune cells are produced.
The Gushing Child and its needs
The child can do anything, just as a germ can do anything… but it needs a truly nourishing soil!
Infinite potential, he is also extremely fragile.
Their fundamental and legitimate needs are envelopment, benevolence and security. Three essential ingredients that are unfortunately so rarely fulfilled in our society, which mistreats very young children. This, moreover, is not necessarily malicious: simply because of a rhythm that does not follow the cycles, that pushes the child to separate from the mother too early (often at 2 months of age, children are in the crèche), that exposes them to unknown environments… and more generally that makes them grow up in family units that are often small, whereas it is said that « to make a child grow well, it takes a whole village ».
Material security – non-judgement – loving envelopment.
Adults… and especially adults who did not receive this as a child, it is a great challenge to offer ourselves living conditions that honour these needs… because they will be active until the end of our days… as long as the spark of life is there, as long as the child lives!
The Symptoms of the Upper Belly
How numerous are the symptoms of this area… and how much they must show us that something is dysfunctional at the base and that our whole being is in deep adaptation.
Heartburn and stomach pain may simply show us that we are letting in things (material, emotional, spiritual) that are not good for us, that are not good water for our precious germs.
Liver problems, as we know, often speak of anger… because the gushing child is also the spark that passes through despite everything, the sacred fire that perhaps is not honoured enough!
On the side of the pancreas, diabetes is born, a disease of lack of autonomy par excellence, since the individual loses his independence to maintain his level of energetic fuel… the child is alone, he certainly lacks envelopment!
And finally, with the spleen comes immunity, and therefore identity: the individual is not recognised for what he or she is: a unique seed, not an interchangeable thing!
The message of the Gushing
The gushing child calls out to you… « Are you making room for gushing in your life? »
This is not easy when you have learned to control everything, to distrust others.
There is a need to redevelop a great delicacy and benevolence towards this fragile part of yourself: it is precious.
« Are you enveloping and reassuring enough for yourself?
At the beginning of this year, be attentive and benevolent.
